There are characters born of light. Others are born of darkness.
Mine was born precisely where the two meet.
She exists somewhere between the enchantment of fairy tales and the darkness of nightmares; between everything we dream of becoming and everything we are afraid to reveal. She is, at once, a princess and a witch, an angel and a demon, a dream and a threat.
Behind the glamour lives a restless creature, built on contrast. She can offer the sweetest smile while hiding the most wicked intentions. She may look as though she has stepped straight out of a fairy tale, only to transform, in an instant, into the character from our darkest dreams.
She is not entirely good. Nor is she entirely evil.
And perhaps that is her truest nature.
She embodies the duality that exists within all of us: the light we show the world and the shadow we learn to hide. Beauty and distortion. Innocence and temptation. Love and cruelty.
In her fantasy, anything can happen. Fairy tales may not have happy endings. Monsters can become the true protagonists. And a “happily ever after” may conceal one final page—written in blood.
She did not come here simply to be beautiful.
Kina Karvel came to provoke, seduce, unsettle and perhaps even frighten.
Because in her world, the line between dream and nightmare is razor-thin.
And when she crosses it, we never quite know which character we will encounter:
The princess… or the monster.
Perhaps both.
After all, every light casts a shadow.
And within every shadow, there is still a trace of light.
